The interview process

  1. 1

    Application

    Official

Online application with a CV/resume only (no cover letter). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so DRW advises applying early once roles are posted. Same process described for interns and new graduates in all regions; DRW says individual processes may vary slightly.

  2. 2

    Technical challenge (online assessment)

    Official

Timed take-home test. Quant trader and researcher applicants get a quantitative assessment of logical and quantitative skills (DRW does not publish the exact topics); software roles get a Codility coding test. The invitation email states how long it takes.

  3. 3

    Zoom / phone interview

    Official

About 45 minutes with a developer, quant trader or researcher, on weekdays only (afternoons often suit QTA interviewers). Technical and behavioural: a deep dive into everything on your CV (work, coursework, research), with probability and statistics questions. DRW suggests revising mental maths. Bring your own questions.

  4. 4

    Final round (two-day on-site)

    Official

Day one starts in the afternoon with introductions and a technical challenge. Day two is a full day of technical and behavioural interviews, with time to meet potential teammates on both days.

  5. 5

    Superday content (quant trading)

    Official

For Quantitative Trading Analyst candidates, the in-person Superday includes a quantitative coding challenge in Python, a trading simulation and several technical interviews, plus informal time with the team.

  6. 6

    Final-round preparation by role

    Official

DRW books flights and hotels for on-site candidates; dress is business casual. Interviews may run back to back and are mostly technical. Quant trading candidates should be ready to discuss what is happening in the markets; quant researchers should be ready to discuss their research and publications in detail.
